We golf

Well, we sort of golf. We goofy golf and we rock. Well, we sort of rock...or cheat, which ever way you want to look at it. Last weekend we doubled with our good friends the Carpenters. They pawned off their little munchkin for the night and we headed over to Fiddlesticks for some good old fashioned ghetto mini golf fun. It was a magical night if you couldn't already tell by the look on JR's face.

Our favorite part of the evening was when we met our new friend Archie. Archie was golfing behind us and we were going to let him play through but decided to ask him to join us instead. We were very pleased when he accepted. Archie was in town on business from the Philippines and it was his last night here so we ended it for him with a bang. Hopefully he had fun and did not leave thinking all Americans are as out of control as we were that night. Archie, if you are reading this I hope you got back home safely and good luck with the wedding plans! We'll see you there next year!

Just makes me happy

This picture just makes me so happy. These are the roses that JR got me for Valentines day and they just blossomed so beautifully that I think these may be my new favorite rose. They are called "cinnamon". Guys should never underestimate the power of flowers. I know some people think it's totally cliche but I love them and will always appreciate a nice bouquet!

Really? I mean, really?

Throughout the years I have lived in Phoenix I have come to realize that there are many men out there that me and my friends like to refer to as Chomo's. Some of you may be familiar with this term. For those who aren't, the word is a derivative from the phrase Chester Molester. Basically any man who likes to stare, or whistle, or give any other form of uncomfortable attention to women. Phoenix is jammed packed with said chomo's. Well today I had the ultimate chome experience.
There I was, minding my own business, driving down the freeway when I noticed that the semi next to me was playing the "let's stay right up even with you no matter how much you speed up or slow down" game. So I look over and the guy in the passenger seat sure was leaning out the window with a cardboard sign that read "Flash me". Yep, he sure did look at me and nod for about 30 seconds. I mean, who does that?
My friend at work told me that that is an instance where giving some one the bird is appropriate. I refrained though.
And that my friends, is a chome story that I'm not sure you'll be able to beat. Thank you.

Valentines

Valentines started a day early for me at work. We celebrated Valentines elementary school style. We all decorated paper bags and then placed the bags on our desks so people could come and put their Valentines in them. I did not win the bag decorating contest although I thought mine turned out pretty good considering it's a paper bag and all I had were some foam pads and ribbons.

I raked in some pretty good treats

Actual Valentines day was even better than that though! JR did a really good job. I made him waffles with fresh strawberries and whip cream for breakfast.

Look at the excitment

After that JR had to go to work but I went out with mom and sister! When he got home we went to a baptism at 6 which put our Valentines date late but it all worked out. JR was very thoughtful and got me a stand for the keyboard he got me at Christmas. We then headed out to my favorite restaurant "Cheesecake Factory". It was 8 pm by the time we got there and the wait was still 55-70 minutes. Whoa! Well worth it though! We finally sat down at 9:30 and had a lovely meal.

I thought this was the end to the festivities but to my surprise when we got home JR had a few more tricks up his sleeves! He brought out a dozen roses, had some sparkling cider ready, and had somehow managed to bake and hide my favorite New York treat in the world, the famous Black and White cookies! It was all so very cute. What a great husband! Love you baby baby!

Girl's Night

Friday I had a girl's night out with my sisters while JR went to a camp out for his friends bachelors party. I just love sisters nights. My sisters are seriously so awesome! We met up for dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Aunt Chilada's which turned out to be pretty good. We then walked around the mall for like an hour and a half and ended the night with a movie. We watched "New in Town". It was as pretty cute movie. I like that it was a PG movie so we didn't have to worry about it being inappropriate. That and Bride Wars were good clean movies. Anyways, we had a great time!

JR had the ultimate guys night out in the desert with a bonfire and guns and whatever else guys do out in the desert. I have learned to not ask for details when it comes to his guys nights ;)

A Chocolate Affair!

Saturday night JR and I met up with our good friends that we haven't seen in way to long over in Glendale at an event called "A Chocolate Affair". Basically a bunch of vendors set up booths in an attempt to try to sell their product to Valentines enthusiasts. Some were successful and others, like the booth with shirts with airbrushed kittens and teddy bears, etc, were not. The long lined booths were of course those that sold any sort of chocolate item. I indulged in a slab of cheesecake on a stick dipped in milk chocolate. I have to admit, it was pretty dang good. JR, did not like the idea of cheesecake on a stick.

Eddie and Nikki enjoying their double chocolate fudge...a little to much maybe?

JR questioning cheesecake on a stick...

Little Heather with her chocolate banana. Please notice the booth in the background for chocolate dipped Key Lime Pie. Huh?

It was a lot of fun just walking around and being with good company. Thanks for the good idea Heather and Nikki! Soon we'll be salsa dancing in Guadalupe, and by soon I mean probably 4 months.

Why do I love Wednesday's?

I sure do love this show and I can't even explain why because it's not my usual easy going sitcom that I usually spend TV time watching. For those who haven't followed it from season 1 you would be completely confused to try to pick it up now. Heck, I'm still confused half the time but I am still so addicted to it. The writers always take like 8 months between seasons so it's a long wait but season 5 just started again and now Wednesday's are devoted to "Lost". I got JR hooked to so at least we can share in being couch potato's together!
