Failure

This last weekend JR and I were pretty pumped because we had a camping trip planned with our friends Jen and Garrett. It was confirmed that we would go pick them up at 5 and we would drive to a spot near Saguaro Lake where JR had been to a couple times and I had been to once. Jen and Garrett had an amazing Dutch oven dinner planned and JR and I had all the stuff for breakfast in the morning and we were going to play games and have a great time. One problem, when we drove up to Saguaro Lake the turnoff for the campsite was nowhere to be found. Seriously we drove up and down that road at least 4 times for like an hour and a half and nothing. We attempted to find another spot that might work but all signs said no overnight camping and no campfires and other discouraging signs. We then turned to the help of family and friends trying to get suggestions for places to go but as it got later and we realized we had to get up early in the morning to come home to work in the temple we realized that camping was just not going to happen that weekend. So sad. Oh well! We still had a fun time with Jen and Garrett.
We ended up picking up some pizza and heading back to Jen and Garrett's for a rousing game of Canasta. We got our trash kicked by the way.

Defeat.

Saturday was a lot of fun too. We worked in the temple and it was super busy. We were non stop the whole time and usually we have quite a bit of down time. Saturday night we ended up being able to spend some time with some of JR's family who JR hasn't been able to see in awhile and who are moving to Utah soon. Basically our last chance to get together. We met up in Casa Grande and saw Wall-E. Cute movie by the way. Not a lot of talking but still entertaining for sure. We had planned on going to Famous Sams for dinner afterwards but turns out Famous Sams didn't exist yet in Casa Grande. IHOP took second place. All in all a very good fun packed weekend!

Nice facial expression JR! I don't know why that boy can't keep a straight face in a picture.

i know another reason your camping trip wouldn't have worked out too well, it's seriously 115 degrees outside and you wouldn't have slept anyway. you should camp farther up north near Strawberry or Payson next time!!! glad you had a great weekend, it's hard finding things to do in this miserable heat... can you tell I'm ready for summer to be over? love ya
